One of WOVEN’s international resources is the Miriam College Center for Peace Education, located in the Philippines. Led by Jasmin Nario-Galace, Ph.D., the center embraces its mission to help advance a culture of peace through education. This includes “having a set of values, modes of behavior and ways of life that reflects respect for life and for human dignity, rejects violence in all its forms, prevents violent conflicts by tackling their root causes, and recognizes the importance of cooperation, tolerance and dialogue.”
On September 19th, the Center held a Circle of Peace at the Miriam College Southeast Asian Institute for the Deaf in celebration of International Peace Day this week.
