Choose Respect: Men’s Mentoring Program to End Violence
Tribal communities embrace strong efforts of cultural revitalization, community engagement and provide healing opportunities. Yet, physical violence, sexual assault, dating violence, stalking and child sexual abuse continues on tribal lands, in urban centers and areas in between- violence against women by men. Most often, it is women helping other women to heal from these traumatic experiences, bringing awareness to the prevalence of violence and helping women learn more about healthy relationships. Where are the men in all of this? Small pockets of men across the Nation are stepping up to make positive change, to take responsibility to hold themselves and other men accountable and to END violence against women.
