UN 63rd Commission on the Status of Women
Organized by Canadian Voice of Women for Peace, the sixty-third session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) will take place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City from March 11 to 22, 2019.
The UN Commission on the Status of Women is the principal global policy-making body dedicated exclusively to gender equality and the advancement of women. Every year, representatives of Member States gather at United Nations Headquarters in New York to evaluate progress on gender equality, identify challenges, set global standards, and formulate concrete policies to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment worldwide.
As an ECOSOC-accredited non-profit organization, VOW is invited to participate in CSW63. For over twenty years, a delegation of VOW members has attended the CSW. Delegates get the opportunity to attend sessions, receive private briefings, and lobby to national governments and international diplomats on issues concerning gender and peace.
